Pension Application of Thomas Rogers S31337

State of Kentucky   }  SS.

Bourbon County    }

                On this the 3rd day of Dec’r. 1832 personally appeared in open Court before the worshipful Justices of the County Court of Bourbon County now sitting, Thomas Rogers a resident of said County & State aged 78 years, who being first duly sworn according to Law doth on his Oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7th 1832. That he entered the service of the United States under the following named officers and served as herein stated. In September 1776 in Leesburg Virginia he volunteed as a minute man and served two months under Captain James Radican. Captain Radican he thinks was under the Command of Colonel [James] Coleman. Whilst in the service he was marched from Leesburg to Alexandria at which last place he was discharged. In September 1777 he again volunteered under Capt. Radican & served a tour of six months  during this service he was marched from Leesburg Va. to Pittsburg [Fort Pitt] & went from Pittsburg by water to Wheeling at which place he concluded his term of service  I received a regular discharge, but has lost it  He knows that General [Edward] Hand, Capt. Persons and Captain Chinith [possibly Chenowith] were attached to the last service. He was born in Pensylvania Bucks County, has been living in the said county of Bourbon about forty four years. He has no documentary evidence. He knows of no person whose testimony he can procure, who can testify to his services; He has been living at this present place of abode for forty four years past.

He hereby relinquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except the present and declares that his name is not on the pension roll of the agency of any state — Sworn to & subscribed the day & year afore’d.                                                                                                                      [signed] Thos Rogers
