My mother, maiden name James, of Church Road, Dinwiddie Co., VA. Her mother was a Ford of
Church Road area where many Fords still live and are buried at Trinity United Methodist
Church (Church Road.) There are also many Fords in Dinwiddie and Amelia Co. My mother's
father was a James who had roots in Hanover Co. He and my mother are buried at Sunset
Cemetery in Chester, VA....Alfred James/Frances Lee James Davis. Her grandfather, also
Alfred James, is buried in Chesterfield Co in a small family cemetery near Rt. 10 and
I-295 (recently discovered by me.) I would like to share what info I have and get more on
the Hanover/Caroline Co. JAMES family. I have some evidence that the James' also resided
in Ashland and even Petersburg areas as well. A great uncle is buried near off of Rt. 1
near the Halfway House near Chester. I have also recently found James relatives in TEXAS
where it appears that 100+ years ago, brothers went to Texas and others stayed in the
greater Richmond/Petersburg/Ashland areas. Please contact me. I would like to fill in this

Ga. In Hanover Co. Chancery Wills and Notes there is an entry for Sarah Hambleton's will.
In her will, she names David Richardson son of Ann Richardson (her daughter) as an heir
providing that David support his mother during her life. The will was probated in Louisa
Co. on 9 Dec. 1816. Who was Ann Hambleton/Richardson's husband? There is an entry showing
a Richard Richardson as witness to her purchase of a negro woman named Dinah and her child
named Bing. Was Richard Ann's husband? Where did this David Richardson go; who was his
