PETER BARNARD (BARNETT)*

Entered service as Capt. in early part of 1777 and in the spring of 1778, having recruited his own company, marched to the North where he remained in active service until the Spring of 1781. In the Summer of 1781, he entered the militia and was stationed with his company at Point Comfort. From there he went to Hubbards Old Field near the dividing line between Gloucester and King and Queen where he remained until the end of the war. Warrant 8177 for 4,000 acres issued Aug. 10, 1835, to heirs of Peter Barnard.
