We extend our appreciation to Mrs. Karen J. Jensen of Manassas, VA who transcribed and shared the Fauquier 1800 Personal Property Records for the Northwestern District and the Southern District. Her notes:

The lists are transcribed in the original spelling and abbreviations. For instance, the surname Scott is seen as “Scoot”. A common abbreviation used is “decd” for deceased. Also seen in the name field are “son of James” or “Tinpot”, which refers to the location Tinpot Run. Other comments about the land can refer to location, such as “on river”. The previous owner, when given, is generally by surname, as in “of Anderson”. However, in the case of John Washington, “of Nathaniel” refers to his father, Nathaniel Washington.
