A high percentage of our ancestors were "Cavalier" families who settled in the Northern Neck of Virginia in the early days of America. They were loyal to Charles I and Charles II of England. Many came to the Northern Neck between 1630 and 1700.

From a geographical perspective Lancaster, Northumberland, Westmoreland, Richmond, Old Rappahanock (now Essex Co), King George, Stafford make up the Northern Neck of Virginia. From a family history perspective we must include: Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and FAUQUIER Counties.
