Sherman Darrell Dalton Lynchburg, Campbell Co VA Sherman Darrell Dalton, 69, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, July 30, 2009. He was the husband of Doris Ware Dalton for 28 years. Mr. Dalton was born Nov. 23, 1939, in Lynchburg, a son of the late Edgar Talmadge Dalton and Mary Flowers Dalton. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during peacetime. He drove a Lynchburg city bus for 21 years and was retired from Kroger. He was an avid golfer and could be found at Colonial Hills Golf Club on most pretty days. He was a faithful member of Living Word Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Debbie Zatrepalek and her husband, Frank, Sherman Darrell Dalton Jr. and his wife, Kelly, Kimberly Evans, Beverly Harris, Brian Oakes and Donna Lane and her husband, Roy; his grandchildren, Michelle Holland and her husband, Tristan; Heather Zatrepalek; Joey Sax and friend, Jessie King; Casey Evans; Rebel Lee Lane and his wife, Kasi; and Charles Elder, Mya Dalton, Austin Brooks, Jackson Verdinella, Joshua Verdinella, Shay Ward, Taylor Ward and Crystal Oakes; his siblings, James Dalton and his wife, Robin, Danny Dalton, Donnie Dalton and Elizabeth Lane Bryant; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his first wife, Millie Bays, who is still an integral part and well-loved member of the family. Interment was in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
