Booker Hughes Dalton, Sr.

Booker Hughes Dalton, Sr., 97, died Friday, March 7, 2008, at Memorial 
Hospital of Martinsville, Henry County. He was born January 27, 1911 in 
Stuart, Va., to Booker Dalton and Lillah Shockley Dalton. He served in the 
United States Army Air Force during the China-Burma-India theatre. He retired 
from Bassett Furniture Industries as a vice-president. He is survived by his 
wife, Eileen B. Dalton, of the home, a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Booker 
Hughes Dalton Jr. and Dr. Gail Dalton, of Atlanta, Ga., two granddaughters, 
Ashley and Virginia Dalton, of Atlanta, Ga., a sister, Margaret D. Rodgers of 
Stuart, Va., and several nieces and nephews. The Graveside Funeral Service was 
held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery.
