Booker Hughes Dalton Sr.
   Bassett, Henry County, Virginia
Booker Dalton, Sr., 97, of Bassett, died Friday, March 7, 2008, at Memorial 
Hospital in Martinsville.  He was born January 27, 1911 in Stuart and was a 
son of the late Booker DALTON and Lillah Shockley Dalton.  He served in the 
U.S. Army Air Force during the China-Burma-India theater of operations. He 
retired from Bassett Furniture Industries as a vice president.

Surviving are his wife, Eileen B. Dalton of the home; one son, Dr. Booker 
Hughes DALTON Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; two granddaughters; one sister, Margaret D. 
Rodgers of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.  A graveside service was 
conducted at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. Michael Shockley.
