 CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VIRGINIA     Deed Book 25, Page 581


Known by all men by these presents, to whom it may concern, That we John
and Sarah Snellings for diven causes and consideration and particular
for the favor and affections we bear towards our children Jefse and
Rebecca Snellings, do loan unto them the following property to wit,
negro Phebe and Beverly with a feather bed and furniture, our stock of
all kinds, plantation utensils, house and kitchen furniture to them the
said Jefse and Rebecca for and during their natural lives, and after
their deaths to our Grandson Obadiah Snellings to him and his heirs
forever particular reserving  the use of all and every part and
particles of the aforesaid property to our use for and during our
natural lives.....In witnefs whereof we have hereunto set our hands and
seals this 8th day of July 1824

In Chesterfield county court July 25, 1824 This deed of Gift from John &
Sarah Snellings to Jefse & Rebecca Snellings was presented in court and
proven by the oath of G. Snellings and John Blankenship two subscribing
witnefses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
