CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VIRGINIA     Deed Book 18, Page 104, 105


This Indenture made this seventh day of April in the year of our Lord
Christ eighteen hundred and nine Between Alexander Snellings and Sarah
his wife of Chesterfield County of the one part and Peter Snellings of
the same County and other part.  Witnefsith that the said Alexander
Snellings and Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of
three hundred and sixtyfive pounds, four shillings, current money of
Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Peter Snellings, the receipt
whereof they do hereby acknowledge have bargained and sold and by these
presents do absolutely bargain and sell in fee simple unto the said
Peter Snellings a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred
and two acres be the same more or lefs (reserving the use thereof to the
said Alexander Snellings and Sarah his wife during life and no longer)
lying and being in the County aforesaid and bounded as followeth By the
lands of Frances Dunevant, Branch Elam, Thomas Beasley's estate, Arch.
Ball and William Elam and the Genito road, together with all and every
of its rights and titles in anywise appertaining to the same preserving
the use as aforesaid) to the said Peter Snellings, his heirs and afsigns
to their only proper use and emoluments forever.  And the said Alexander
Snellings and Sarah his wife do covenant for themselves their heirs [?]
to and with the said Peter Snellings to warrant the above land and
premises unto the said Peter Snellings and to his heirs and afsigns
forever, against the property claim or demand of all and every other
person or persons whatsoever that shall lay any claim right, or title,
to the above sold land and premises or any part or parcel there of
(reserving the use as aforesaid) In testimony whereof the said Alexander
Snellings & Sarah his wife have hereunto affixed their hands & seals the
day and year above

In Chesterfield County court April the 10th, 1809  This deed was proven
by the oath of Jacob Flournoy and Thomas B. Roberts witnefses thereto
and ordered to be continued for further proof.   And in saidCourt the
8th day of May following the said deed was further and fully proven by
the oath of Thomas Snellings also a witnefs thereto, and ordered to be
recorded -
