CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VIRGINIA     Deed Book 18, page 50, 51


This Indenture made and entered into this twentieth day of January
eithteen hundred and nine; Between John Snellings Senr. & Sarah his
wife, of the first part and Jefse Snellings of the second part, all of
the county of Chesterfield.  Witnefseth that the said John Snellings &
Sarah his wife hath for the consideration of the sum of two hundred &
eighty sis pounds to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, hath bargained, sold, aliened and conveyed, and by these
presents doth absolutely bargain and sell in fee simple unto the
aforesaid Jefse Snellings and his heirs for ever one certain tract or
parcel of land containing by an estimation one hundred and forty three
and one third acres be the same more or lefs, lying and being in the
county. aforesaid and bounded as follows by the lands of the said John
Snellings (who giveth a fee simple to the said Jefse Snellings [?] on
the spring he now useth with a fourth acre of land adjoining the same)
Josiah Flournoy, Dan'l Flournoy & John Labarriaire, with all and every
of its rights and apurtinances in any wise appurtaining to the same, to
him the said Jefse Snellings and his heirs and afsigns to their own
proper use and instuments for ever; and the said John Snellings and
Sarah his wife doth covenant for themselves their heirs [?] to and with
the said Jefse Snellings, to warrant the above premises to the aforesaid
Jefse Snellings against the claim property and demand of all and every
other person or persons whatsoever; in witnefs where of the said John
Snellings & Sarah his wife hath affixed their seals th day and year
above written

In Chesterfield county court February 13th 1809.  This Indenture was
proven by the oath of G. Snellings, William Ellett & Robert Brummal
subscribing witnefses and ordered to be recorded
