June 6, 1772

This Indenture made the Twenty six day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and seventy two Between William HOWARD of King William Parish of the County of Cumberland of the one part and John HOWARD of the said parish and County of the other part. Witnesseth the said William HOWARD of and in consideration of the sum of Forty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said John HOWARD , the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted, bargained ........and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, .............., and confirm unto the said John HOWARD his Heirs', assignes forever one certain parcel of Land containing Sixty eight acres be the same more or less lying in the County of Chesterfield between the lines of John GODSEY and James HARRIS, Charles AMMONET, ......... LANDRUM and Thos. HARRIS being the said Land of said Wm. HOWARD had by Deed of Thos. GODSEY, together with all and singular the premises with all appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and also the ................ and Reversions remaining thereof and every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said parcel of Land with all and singular the appurtenances unto the said John HOWARD his Heirs, assigns to.....the only proper use as behoove of him the said John HOWARD his Heirs and assignes for ever. And the said Wm. HOWARD for himself and his Heirs ................said Land and Premises with there of every of there appurtenances unto the said John HOWARD his Heirs and Assignes shall and will Warrant and for ever defend by these presents against any person or persons whatsoever having or Lawfully claiming any Rights or Title in or to the same or any parts or parcel thereof of the said William HOWARD for himself and his Heirs doth covenant and agree to and with the said John HOWARD his Heirs and Assigns in manner of form following that is to say That the said William HOWARD at the time of Sealing and Delivery of these presents is and stands ............ of an Indefeasable Estate in Fee Simple of and in the premises and that he hath good Right of Lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and Form aforesaid and that the same shall for ever remian unto the said John HOWARD his Heirs and Assigns freely and clearly Exonerated and Discharged of and from all other and Former Bargains and Sales, Titles of .....and all other Rites and Estate whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said William HOWARD hath hereunto set his Hand of Seal the Day and Year above written----------------------------
