IN THE NAME GOD AMEN. I, Benjamin Harrison, Senior, of Brunswick County and Parish of Meherin being in my prefect senses and of a sound memory, judgment, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in the manner following, my soul I give to God who gave it being trusting for happiness through the merits of my Saviour Jesus Christ. In premiss it is my desire that my body may be deceantly buried according to the direction of my executors, that all my just debts be first paid and the residue of my worldly estate it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose of as followeth:
FIRST. I give and bequeath to my son, Thomas Harrison, part of the land I had of William Warwick beginning at the lower line thence up the long branch to the head, thence a strait line to the road, also the land whereon he now lives to him and his heirs forever. Item. I lend unto my son Thomas Harrison, Peter, King, Dackter, Orstean, Jacob, and Fatha, during his natural life and then I give them to be equally divided among all his children that is then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I lend to my daughter, Rites Cook, during her natural life one Negro woman named Sal with her, her increase and then I give them to be equally divided among her children that is then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I lend to my daughter, Hannah Reas, one Negro man named Absolum during her natural life, and then I give him to be equally divided among her children that is then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I give to my son, Benjamin Harrison, the other part of my land I bought of William Warwick, also the land and plantation whereon he now lives, also the land and plantation whereon I now live, also the land I bought of Reubin Booth to him and his heirs forever.
ITEM. I lend to my son, Benjamin Harrison, Cailine, Benson, Tom and Josh, during his natural life and then I give them to be equally divided between all his children that is then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I lend to my son, James Harrison, Dick, Harry and Joe, during his natural life and then I give them to be equally divided among all his children that is then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I lend to my daughter, Elizabeth Barner, Isaac, Moll, Moses, Charles, Fillis and Antony and their increase, during her natural life and then I give them to be equally divided between all her children that is then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I lend to my daughter, Rebecca Hicks, Rowlin, Cate, Pig and Beth during her natural life and then I give them to be equally divided between all her children that is then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I lend to my daughter, Tabetha Collier, Sue, Anna, Charles, Tilis, Humphry and Mack during her natural life and then I give them to be equally divided between all her children she has then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I lend to my daughter, Nancy Hicks, Chac, Peter, Daisy, Rammon, Violet, Jane, Patience and George during her natural life and then I give them to be equally divided between all her children that is then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I lend to my daughter, Rebecca Hicks, Eiash, Harry, Britton, Wooley and Jack during her natural life and then I give them to be equally divided between all her children that is then living to them and their heirs forever.
ITEM. I give to my daughter, Rites Cook, one hundred pounds to be paid her by my Executors out of the money raised by the sale of my stock and household furniture to her and her heirs forever.
ITEM. I give to my daughter, Hannah Ross, one hundred pounds to be paid her by my Executors out of the money raised by the sale of my stock and household furniture to her and her heirs forever.
ITEM. I give to my grandson, Theophilus Harrison, one small yellow boy named Tom to him and heirs forever.
ITEM. I give to my granddaughter, Judith Barner, one Negro girl named Milley to her and her heirs forever.
ITEM. I give to my grandson Theofilas Harrison, one Negro girl named Holy to him and his heirs forever.
ITEM. My will and desire is that all my Estate, real or personal that is not mentioned including the land whereon my grandson, Robert Harrison, lives be sold and the money arising therefrom after paying the legatees to be equally divided among all my children.
ITEM. My will is that my three old negroes live with whom they please their names being Marausy, Fillis and Jany.
ITEM. I leave my two sons, Benjamin Harrison and James Harrison, Executors of this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twenty Ninth of December One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Nine.
