We the undersigned do certify that John Abernathy Jr. in his last sickness at his habitation in the county of Brunswick did call on us to take notice & bear witness that the following was his last will & Testament, to wit, that he wishes his brother James Abernathy to take his business in hand and that he wanted all his property sold, except three sheep (ewes) one of each to be given to his sister Sandal Abernathy, Mason Abernathy, and Matthew Abernathy it was his desire also that all his Land should be sold, his clothing to be given to Elisha Abernathy, Jarratt Abernathy and James Abernathy. In witness whereof we have hereto set our hands and affixed our seals this 9th day of February 1815.
