Guardian Appointments
Court for October 7, 1736. Upon the petition of Elizabeth Barlow,
George Hix is appointed her guardian until she arrives of Lawfull age.
George Hicks, together with George Wallton, his security, came into
Court and presented and acknowledged a bond for his faithful keeping of
Elizabeth Barlow and her estate and surrendering the said Estate to the
said Barlow when she shall attain to lawfull age or when thereunto
required by the said Court which is ordered to be recorded.

Court for April 3, 1740. George Hix is appointed guardian to Thomas
Hix, Mary Hix, Daniel Hix and Benjamin Hix, Orphants of Daniel Hix,
dec'd. George Hix together with John Chapman came into Court and
presented and acknowledged a bond of Six hundred pounds Cort. Money for
the well and truly paying to Thomas Hix, Mary Hix, Daniel Hix, &
Benjamin Hix Orphants of Daniel Hix Decd. all Such Estates or Estates as
now is or hereafter shall appear to be due to the said Orphants which is
ordered to be recorded.
On the attachment Obtained by John Wall
gent against the Estate of Edith Hix for Sevan pounds 14 sh and 3 pence
half penny Curt. money due by the ballance of an Account the said
Attachment being returned Executed on all the Corns and Tobacco and all
other whatsoever of the Estate of the said Edith Hix the said Wall
thereupon came into Court and proved the aforesaid ballance of Accounts
to be Justly due to him from the said Edith Hix Judgment is therefor
granted him for the Same. . . said Hix is ordered to pay together with
his costs by him about his Suit in this behalf. Expended Als Exa and its
further ordered that the aforesaid Goods Attached be sold according to
Law.

Court for February 1747. James Hix appointed Guardian to Daniel Hix and
Benja. Hix orphans of Daniel Hix decd. in the room of George Hix
whereupon he enter'd into Bond with Security according to law.

entered into and acknowledged the bond for his faitherful dealing of his
Guardianship.

the motion of the complainants by their Council It is ordered that
Nathaniel Hix of this county Gentleman be appointed Guardian to the
Respondent who is under the age of 21 years to defend him in this suit.

acres of land whereon Burrell Brown Gent. died seized in Fee simple and
make report thereof to the next Court.

orphan of Drury J. Barner, dec'd. and thereupon the said William Dunn
with E.B. Hicks, his security, entered into and acknowledged a bond in

for the County of Brunswick on Monday, the 22nd day of October, 1827.
