DEED OF INQUIST - KING, Walter - Indenture Deed of Inquist taken before THOMAS NAPIER, Escheater for the County of Fluvanna by TURNER RICHARDSON, BENJA. ANDERSON, WILLIAM MARTIN, JOHN HANCOCK, HENRY HAISLIP, FISHER RICE BENNETT, THO. LINTHECIUN, ARCHBELL SNEED, CALEB STONE, TUNSTALL QUARLES, JAMES COLE and WILLIAM BARNET, Jurors good and lawfull men of the said county. . . whether the Estate real and personal of WALTER KING of the Kingdom of Great Britan Escheates and forfits to the Commonwealth . . . do say that WALTER KING is a subject of Briton and is found seized in Fee Simple of Five thousand six hundred acres of Land called and known by the name of the Fork tract, bounded by the Fluvanna and Rivanna Rivers joining the lands of ALLEN COCK, JOHN COBBS, THOMAS APPLEBERRY, ELIAS and WILLIS WILLS and GEORGE COCK, also 77 slaves (names given) all which escheats to the Commonwealth also (items of personal property) all which forfits to the Commonwealth agreeable to Act of Assembly concerning Escheats and Forfietures from British Subjects . . . this 4th day of September 1779. Inquisition returned by TURNER RICHARDSON in Court for Fluvanna on the 3rd day of February 1780.

DEED - KING, Daniel - Deed dated September, 1782, from JOHN ALLOWAY STRANGE of Fluvanna County and DANIEL KING of Fluvanna County, conveying one certain tract or parcel of land in Fluvanna County on the waters of Ballengers Creek and on the South side of the same containing 100 acres and Bounded on the North side by Kents Spring branch to the head thereof then a straight line to the back line to a corner tree a black oak in the said DANIEL KING'S and KENT'S line, then bounded by the lines of the said KING, being part of a tract of 200 acres patented to JOHN ALLOWAY STRANGE, for the consideration of 10 pounds. Deed signed by JOHN ALO. STRANGE and acknowledged in Court by him on the 3rd day of October, 1782.

WILL - KING, Daniel - Will of DANIEL KING dated December 9, 1797, and proved on April 6, 1798. To sons, JOHN and JOSEPH KING the land whereon I now live lying on both sides of Ballengers Creek to be divided between them by and according to the meanders of the Creek, that part of the said tract lying on the western side of the said Creek to belong to JOHN KING and that part of the said tract lying on the Eastern side of the said Creek to belong to JOSEPH KING. . . reserving nevertheless to my two daughters, BETRIDGE and MOLLEY, the sole and exclusive use and occupancy of the said Plantation . . . in joint tenancy so long as they shall remain unmarried and choose to reside thereon . . . three pounds I give to my daughter DICEY . . . all the rest of my estate both real and personal I desire may be equally divided between my four daughters, BETRIDGE, MOLLEY, JUDITH and DICEY . . . I do hereby ratify and confirm unto my daughters, SUSANNA, NANCY, JUDITH and DICEY, the gifts heretofore made to them. . . Lastly I do constitute and appoint my friends WILLIAM PAYNE, JAMES STUDSTILL, executors. Signed by DANIEL KING and witnessed by JOHN TIMBERLAKE, HORACE TIMBERLAKE, JOHN TIMBERLAKE, JR. and WALTER TIMBERLAKE. ESTATE RECORD - KING, Daniel - Report of Executor, JAMES STUDSTILL, to the Estate of DANIEL KING, deceased to the Legatees of said Estate . . . shows receipt of JOHN KING which was due before the death of the deceased in the amount of 11 pounds, 16 shillings and 9 pence. Shows payments made to BETRIDGE KING (32 pounds, 3 shillings and 3 pence), POLLEY KING (32 pounds, 3 shillings, and 3 pence), ALLEN FOSTER (32 pounds, 3 shillings, and 3 pence), and NATHANIEL HILL (30 pounds, 18 shillings, and 4 pence). Other payments were made to JOHN JONES, JOHN WILLS, ALLEN BARNERD, PLEASANT WHITE, BENJAMIN GRANGER, MATTHEW STEPHENS and JOSEPH KING. Report of Executor dated September 22, 1800, was examined by A. BARNERD, JAMES CREWDSON, and JOHN ROSS.

WILL - KING, Betridge - Will of BETRIDGE KING dated November 14, 1811, and proved on April 27, 1812 and May 25, 1812, Fluvanna County, Virginia. . . . Being entitled jointy with my sister POLLY, wife of WILLIAM BINNS to the tract of land whereon I and said WILLIAM BINNS now resides . . . and also being entitled to certain personal property . . . I do hereby give devise and bequeath unto DANIEL KING, SARAH HIX and WILLIAM WARNER, the children of said WILLIAM BINNS and POLLEY his wife, my said sister or the survivor or survivors of them in case either should die without lawful heirs or before he or she shall attain to the age of twenty one years all my interest right and title in and to the said land and personal property . . . appoints WILLIAM BINNS executor. Signed by BETRIDGE KING and witnessed by JOHN TIMBERLAKE, JOHN KING, and JOAB KING. Will proved by the oath of JOAB KING on April 27, 1812, and further proved by the oath of JOHN KING on May 25, 1812, and ordered to be recorded. WILL - KING, Joseph - Will of JOSEPH KING of Fluvanna County, Virginia, dated July 11, 1818, and proved on June 15, 1821. To my son, DAVID . . . I give and desire all my land on Horslers Creek which I purchased of SANDAGE ROW and whereon he now lives and the personal property heretofore verbally given . . . The personal property which I have heretofore verbally given and delivered to my son, JOHN and my daughters ELIZABETH and NANCEY I hereby confirm . . . To my daughter, HENLEY (personal property) . . . also the tract of Land I purchased of ABNER A. STRANGE lying on the West side of Balengers Creek during her life after her death then to her son, JAMES . . . allowing to my wife MOURNING the free use . . . If my daughters HENLEYS son JAMES should die without a lawful heir . . . land to my son DAVID KING . . . personal property which I have heretofore verbally given to my son JOAB I hereby confirm to him . . . All my lands lying on the east side of Ballengers Creek I give to my two sons JOHN and JOAB to be divided between them equally . . . all the remainder . . . I give to my wife after her death or intermarriage the remainder to be divided between all my children to wit: DAVID, ELIZABETH, HENLEY, NANCEY, JOHN and JOAB. Constitute and appoints my son DAVID KING and JAMES RICHARDSON my executors. Will signed by JOSEPH KING (his mark), and witnessed by R. CREWDSON, B. D. WILLIAMS and E. N. CREWDSON. Proved by the oath of REUBIN CREWDSON and BARTLETT D. WILLIAMS on June 15, 1821, and at a court held for Fluvanna County, Virginia, on the 24th day of September 1821, on the motion of JAMES RICHARDSON, Letters of Administration granted to the said JAMES RICHARDSON, with bond in the amount of $600.00, and REUBEN CREWDSON and DAVID KING as his securities.
