Am seeking info on John LEEPER and Susannah HENDERSON who were born and married in Augusta County . They were probably married around 1770-1780. I am seeking information concerning my GGG grandparents, Samuel Wells SULLIVAN, Sr., and Mary Audsley (Polly) MAYFIELD, who were wed in Staunton, Virginia, on November 27, 1815. Samuel was born in Pennsylvania on January 5, 1777, and Polly was born (place unkown) in 1799. Samuel served in the Virginia Militia, 5th Regiment, in the War of 1812. He worked for Miller's Ironworks and lived in the Mossy Creek Valley area. Samuel and Polly had 11 children, the following 6 of whom were born in Virginia before the family moved to Saline County, Missouri in 1827: Tempest T., Samuel W. Jr., James W., Hester, Mildred, and Henry Morgan. I am also interested in Kitty CARTER, Samuel's first wife, who died, along with her first child, shortly after giving birth. Finally, I am interested in learning whether Thomas SULLIVAN, who married Margaret ERWIN, on March 29, 1790 and who owned property in Harrisonburg, was kin to Samuel.

Peter MCCUNE Sr. first came to United States through Augusta County, VA. Looking for information on his children, one Peter Jr., my connection to Peter Sr.. Peter Sr. fought in the American Revolution. Peter Sr. born November 1748, Died January 15, 1832. Peter Jr. born July 1, 1790. Died August 18, 1878. George Adam BUSH was married to Margaret Hagle. George born c1758, and Margaret c1763. This is all I have. Adam OBRIEN is the father of my 4th great grandmother, Christianna OBRIEN wife of Peter MCCUNE Sr. She was born c1767. Adam Obrien had service in the American Revolution, but can not find any reference to what he did.

He had several children, including Mattig, Hans, Ludwig, Daniel, Christian (or Christiana), Catherine and Julianna. He was one of the original settlers of the Shenandoah Valley. Looking for descendants of Frederick and Hannah Hanger FULTZ. One of their children was David FULTZ who married Margaret Ann Deas 4/5/1825. Their children were Algernon Sidney Fultz, Margaret Ann FULTZ (married John A. LOUIS), Amanda Cornelia FULTZ, MArshall Kent FULTZ, Mary Louisa (married Henry W. Seeking information on my 4th Great Grandfather, William BLANTON. What is know positively is he was married to a Christina GUINN (or GWYNN) when he lived in Greenbrier County, (W)VA in 1790-1800 timeframe. There is some discussion whether he may have been married prior to this. There is a record of a William BLANTON having married a Hannah (no surname known) in Augusta just after mid-1700s. I received the following from a volunteer look-up for Ohio Valley: Census Index: U.S. Selected Counties, 1850--Jones, Enos, State : OH, County : Washington Co., Location : Ludlow Twp, Year : 1850, Page # : 994, #79-79, Enos Jones 47 Va farmer; Emily 36 NJ; Samuel MILLER 14 NY; Alba SPENCER 11 OH; Gasper Jones 8 OH; Nancy Jones 6 OH; Susan Jones 4 OH. From Chalkey's, Vol 1, for 16 November 1779, I found a reference to liquor sold without license, and an "Enos Jones" was listed with the group against whom the charges were filed. I'm attempting to determine if this Enos JONES is the father or grandfather of my Enos Jones (as above). From cd#229,Marriage Index: KY, NC, TN, VA, WV, 1728-1850 (Augusta County, VA): Jones, Enes-Spouse : Forsythe, Catherine; Marriage date : 31 Oct 1805. Jones, Enos-Spouse : Kilkenny, Sarah; Marriage date : 26 Mar 1805. I realize these dates are a little late, unless there were extenuating circumstances. I am searching for the father of my Samuel CURRY, birthplace unknown, in Augusta Co., in early 1700s, married Polly (Mary) SEAWRIGHT about 1772, (verified in Chronicles of the Scotch Irish Settlement in Virginia, p. 177, by Lyman Chalkley.) Removed to Hawkins County, TN, about 1780. The Currys and Mary's sister Margaret Seawright McPheeters and her husband Samuel McPheeters, went together. Samuel Curry died in 1812 and left a will. His wife died during the scourge of 1830. Issue: Sarah, John, James, Jane, George, Samuel, Rebecca, Ann, Margaret and one daughter, name unknown.

I am researching the SEAWRIGHT Line. I have a John Seawright (birthdate unknown in early 1700's) He was in Augusta County, by by 24 July 1740, when he had a survey. John was married to Sarah LEEPER, date unknown. The parents of Sarah LEEPER also came to Augusta Co. John and Sarah SEAWRIGHT had issue: George, Jane, Margaret, James, Mary "Polly", Sarah, Anna. John SEAWRIGHT left a will dated 17 February 1784. It was presented for probate in 1811. A law suit was filed and noted in previous book SEAWRIGHT VS SEAWRIGHT, which names children and spouses. Need father of John Seawright and identity of other SEAWRIGHTS in August County early on : George SEAWRIGHT and DR. SEAWRIGHT.

I am researching James LEEPER and his wife Margaret (Maiden name unknown) James LEEPER wa sborn about 1680 in Northern Ireland and was his wife. They immigrated from Ireland to Pennsylvania and on to Augusta County in 1728 where James obtained land on Christian Creek. James died in 1763 and left eleven children: Nicholas, Sarah, Jane, Andrew, James, Gawin, Isbell, Mary, Elizabeth, John, Margaret, Jr. I need the father of James and the father and mother of Margaret. How many HAWPE'S are buried in Augusta County?? Which cemetery near which city? Looking for Rudolph, Adam and George. Are there still some HAWPE'S in the area alive??

I am researching the William and Martha Bassett BROWN who were living in Augusta Co. Va c 1760. I believe they had the following children: Rebecca m a Harrelson, Mary m a FULTON, Agnes m a FULTON, Thomas, Alexander, Robert, William, Felix m a Jane LEEPER, daughter of Gaiwan? LEEPER, and John BROWN. I believe that William BROWN, died in Knox Co. c. 1803. Any information would be helpful.
