Can anyone assist me with the the HENDERSONS of Augusta VA. Data on line shows that a David, received 580 acres in 1749, a William 1415 acres in 1747, a Thomas 785 acres in 1738 and a John 520 acres in 1747. Other on line data refers to a George as the Father of John who married Rose FINLEY, a brother of John, being James; a Samuel and Jean selling land to a Joseph; a John and Mary selling land to a third party; a John and Jean selling land to Joseph; a Daniel selling land to John; and Robert and Mary selling land to John. With all these Hendersons families; someone should have their lineage worked out and maybe it appears in some published form. In addition Worth S. Ray, in his book Tennessee Cousins, says that the eastern shore PA HENDERSONs migrated to the Beverly Manor area during the last part of the 1700s. Are these early Hendersons which obtained the land patents, children or grandchildren of William Henderson born April 30, 1676 in Scotland and Margaret BRUCE born March l, 1679 in Ireland/Scotland? Is there a relationship between these Hendersons and Capt. John Henderson and Mary OBRIEN of Montgomery VA? By chance does anyone have a Benjamin Henderson in their data base who was born in 1777 in ? VA? Any help or assistance would be gratly appreciated.

Prior to 1753, John Roller received land grants from Lord Fairfax.
Where does one research the grants from Lord Fairfax? Are there any
other Rollers listed as receiving grants from Lord Fairfax. In 1716,
Governor Spotswood and his Knights of the Horseshoe led the first
expedition into the Shenandoah Valley. Is there a Roller among those
who accompanied Govener Spotswood?
In 1732, Jost Hite took a group of Alsatian settlers to a hundred
thousand-acre tract near the present city of Winchester, earlier granted
to John Van Meter. Is there a Roller among those who accompanied Hite?
Hite?
Records in Holland show that there were some Reformed people at
Massanutten about 1727. In 1924, Harry M. Strickler of Harrisonburg
published "Massanutten" in which many particulars, both historical and
genealogical, are collected. Adam Strickler and Jacob Stoever were
listed as Massanutten pioneers. Strickler and Stover were also listed in
residence on Hawksbill Creek, just above Luray, Virginia. Their
neighbors were Rollers, Heistands, Beidlers and later, Ruffner. Can
anyone identify the Rollers on Hawkbill Creek around 1739 and tell me
about their ancestry? In 1726 Jacob Stover led a group of German and
Swiss settlers into the Shenandoah Valley. The year after Adam Miller
(Muller) guided a group of his friends down from Pennsylvania, settling
between the Massanutten Mountain and the Blue Ridge. Were there any
Rollers in this group of settlers? .

I am seeking information on two of my ancestors who lived in Augusta County in the late 1700's and early 1800's. The first ancestor is Samuel TROUT(T), who was apparently born around 1795 in Augusta County and married Mary (maiden surname unknown) just prior to 1820. They are known to have had "at least" one child born in Augusta Co. (John G.- my direct ancestor in 1820) and very likely had several more (several sons likely). We do know that John G. TROUTT was residing in present-day Craig Co. (then Montgomery Co.) in 1840 (with his family?) and that he first married there in the mid 1840's. In any event, any ancestral information on Samuel's family (his parents, etc.) or any other Trout(t) families residing in Augusta Co. in the late 1700's and/or early 1800's would be very much appreciated. The second ancestor I'm seeking information is Samuel Fisher who was thought to have been born in Augusta Co.,Va around 1803. It is presently assumed that he moved with his family to present-day Craig Co. (then Montgomery Co.) by the 1820's as he married an Elizabeth TAYLOR there around 1826. I am descended through their son Joseph, who was born in that county around 1827. Any information on Samuel's ancestral line or any other Fisher families residing in Augusta Co. during the late 1700's or early 1800's would be appreciated.
