Thomas PRICE was born in or near Staunton, Augusta County, Virginia in 1806. He married Minerva ROMINE, who was born in 1820 in Virginia, on 14 February 1839 in Muskingum County, Ohio. Thomas died 29 Mar 1859 Fountain County, Indiana. Need parents and other ancestors of Thomas PRICE. Minerva ROMINE's parents were Jacob ROMINE and Martha STOUT. Jacob probably born about 1787 in Virginia, and probably died 1850-60 in Ohio. Martha STOUT was born in 1789 in Virginia and died 22 Aug 1862 in Fountain County, Indiana. Need parentage of Jacob ROMINE and Martha STOUT.

Would like to exchange with others on the VANDAMENT name. Rev. I. C. P. VANGEMUNDAY was a minister at the Peaked Mountain Church (Augusta County) from 1762-1764. Many researchers have used the "I" as part of his name, but I believe it was probably a "J" and stood for Johan. According to his will dated Feb 1764, he married Mary (unknown), and had children: "eldest" son Henry (married Catharine unknown), George Frederick Peter called Frederick (married Susannah HILLIGOSS), Charles Mathias, probably a son John (married Mary Magdalena HOESTER) and daughter named Ursula. This name became VAN GEMUNDEN, VAN DEMAN and finally VANDAMENT.

Augusta Co. VA. Henry WETZEL was a well known Lutheran Pastor in various churchs in August Co. VA., such as St. Paul (Mt. Solon) about 1845-1856 and Peaked Mountain and Henry was at St. Johns about 1842. His wife was Mary Catherine STAUBERS and they married 05 Dec 1839. Would like to know the name of the children. Believe Henry's parents were George and Margaret Carmeny Wetzel.. Henry was born 11 Dec 1814 in Wythe Co. VA and died 1890. Do not know where. Henry was also involved in churches in Rockingham Co. VA

DOBIKIN; DOBKINS: John A. DOBIKIN appears on a list for a Northern Neck Land Grant in 1735/36. He named his son John and wife Mary as co- executors in his 1743 will in Augusta Co. He presumably died in the same year. Son John served as a Lieutenant in the Augusta Co. Militia in 1742 and received patent to his father's land grant on Holeman's Creek in now Shenandoah Co. in 1750. His wife was Elizabeth... and they had at least three sons --- Evan (m. Margaret JOHNSON), Jacob (m. Darcus JOHNSON) and Reuben (m. Elizabeth HOLEMAN, daughter of Jacob HOLEMAN). John and Elizabeth may have had at least one daughter, Rebecca, who married Patrick SHIELDS in 1783 in Shenandoah Co. All three brothers, and perhaps John Sr., moved to Eastern TN about 1785. 10 August 1997, Donovan YINGST, dyingst@rmci.net.

William d. 1795 in Rockbridge and Samuel d. in 1779 possibly Rockbridge - Elliotts were in Augusta Co., and then Rockbridge when it was formed. Robert, son of William, m. Jean, daugher of Samuel in 1770, according to some sources they were married in Rockbridge. Any info on these families would be greatly appreciated.
