I am researching the GREGORYS of Rockbridge County. They were in Augusta County in the 1810 census. Benjamin GREGORY was born about 1793, married Joana ENGERT about 1820. Benjamin moved to Washington County, Virginia, where he died in 1857. There were 4 men listed in The 1810 Census of Rockbridge County. They were Jacob, John, Philip, and Samuel. Benjamin named some of his sons by these names. Benjamin also had a daughter named Dolly Engert GREGORY that married Robert Wallace McCLELLAND, son of Samuel MCCLELLAND, of Rockbridge County. I am trying desperately to find the names of Benjamin'S parents.

My ggggrandfather, Andrew MCWILLIAMS is supposed to have come from Ireland with his wife Rebecca, and their first, maybe only son was supposed to have been born in Augusta Co. VA, 7-30-1798. The family tree that was given to me, which I am trying to verify, says that Andrew and Rebecca came from Ireland to join relatives who had been here "for many years." John and Rebecca and their eight children appear on the 1840 and 1850 Bledsoe County, TN census. I don't know when they went to TN, or or any- thing before Andrew and Rebecca gave birth to their son, John, in 1798. The following is listed in The Tinkling Spring: Headwater of Freedom; "Jean, dau of Andrew McWilliams, baptized, 16 Dec. 1740 at his house by Rev. John CRAIG. Can anyone connect these MCWILLIAMS?
