I William Smith of the County of Amherst being weak of Body
but in perfect state of mine do make this my last will and testament
my will and desire is that the whole of my Just Debts should be
paid & the remaining part of my Estate real and personable
shall be in the possession of my Executors hereafter to be mentioned
and keep my Estate together for the benefit of my six Children
untill my Daughter Milley Powell Smith shall arise of Lawful age
or marry at whith time my desire is that my Executors shall give
to my said Daughter Milley Powell Smith a certain part of my Estate
but not to exceed her sixth part & when my Daughter Harriot
Smith shall arive to Lawful age or marry my will and desire is
that my Executors shall give to her an like manner , my will &
desire futher is that the remaining part of my Estate should be
kept together for my Wife and four Sons. Joel Franklin Smith,
Wiat Smith Henry Franklin Smith & Richard Smith untill my
said Son Richard shall arive to Lawful age and then the whole
of my Estate real and personable shall be equally divided amongst
my six Children and their heirs, should any of my Children die
without heir my will and desire is that my Estate shall be equally
divided amongst the Surrvers of my children and their heirs my
will and desire is that my Wife shall have a Gentell Support from
my Estate during her widowhood & at the division of my Estate
one Childs part of my personable Estate & the thr--- Of my
real Estate during Life. I appoint my friends viz(?) Joel Franklin
& viz(?) John Smith & my Wife Pheladelphia Smith Executors
to this my last will and Testament & Renownce & Revoke
all other Will or Wills and acknowledge this to be my last and
Will & Testament. Sealed with my Seal and dated this 27th
Day of May one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven.
