| My 5th great grandfather was Alexander Colvin of Albemarle County Va. I have been looking for his origin forever, and I believe I have found him. I will be making a trip to Va to get the proof in the near future. |
| He was a British Soldier in the Royal Army and was captured here during the Revolutionary War. He was taken to Albemarle County and settled there. I do not know yet if he was released to a settler or if he was in prison for the duration of the war. I will look for that information when I am there. |
| I found the info in a book called "The Royal Army in America During the Revolutionary War" subtitle:Prisoners of War. It was included in Thomas Jefferson's correspondence. I was so excited. Imagine after looking for 25 years!! Anyway, I just wanted to share with you and see if anyone has anything to add. |
