We are happy to share this photo, for we both feel that this information should be preserved for future genealogy researchers.

Thomas Files Rogers was born March 2, 1837 in Jefferson Co., IL. He married Sarah Ann Guthrie on Sep 1, 1858 in Mt. Vernon, IL. She died in August 1859. Thomas married Rachel Grant on Feb 25, 1863, the dau of Jonathan and Mary (Timbrel) Grant.

The 1900 census, shows Thomas Files Rogers listed as a Mail Carrier in Oak Creek Township.

In the Oct 25, 1906 Issue of the Brainard Clipper appeared the newspaper article that we are sending you.

Thomas Files Rogers died Sept 14, 1907 and is buried in the Garrison Cemetery - Garrison, Butler co., NE.

On the back of the photo are written two messages - you can tell by the different handwriting. The top message was written by our grandfather John Logan Rogers, son of Thomas Files Rogers and the rest of the notes were written by our mother June Leota (Rogers) Wrede, dau of John Logan Rogers.
