JOHNSON COUNTY, NE NAMES TO ORGANIZE A MILITARY COMPANY

At a meeting of the citizens of Johnson Co. Nebraska Territory held at Tecumseh on 7 April 1862 to organize a company.

May 1891

Married in Todd Creek Precinct, James R. COOPER and Miss Grace BAIRD, May 5th.
C.E CURRAN purchased the clothing store of Lee GOODMAN
C.B. SCOTT has moved his shoe store.        
Mrs. James CASFORD of Todd Creek prect.
   
Crab Orchard--Mrs. WILLIAM, wife of J.D. WILLIAMS, died Tuesday.
A son born to Dr. & Mrs. McCRANN, May 21st.
Married--Ed L. TRANK to Miss Josie DUNLAP, May 20th.
John CARMDNDY died at age 73.            
I.L. DONALDSON will open a restaurant.
   
Born--a son to Mr. & Mrs. Wm. CRANEY of Smartville, May 13th.
Born--a dau. to Mr. & Mrs. R.M. FROST, May 10th.
Eva DOLLARHIDE died in Sterling age 14     
R.G. WORK purchased the Anna McHUGH farm.
   
Miss Nova REYNOLDS closed her school due to illnesses.
Robbie ERWIN of Lincoln precinct was injured from a fall off a horse.
John DOLAN died May 23rd at Crab Orchard aged 61.
   
A girl born to Mr. & Mrs. W.A. APPERSON and a girl born to Mr. & Mrs. G.F. DAMON.
Married--Flora WRIGHT, Dau. of Mrs. E.R. WRIGHT to Mr. A.C. MOHRMAN.
Mrs. Maria FRANKE will open an ice cream shop on Clay Street.
   

June 1891

Will JONES of Lincoln precinct purchased a new top buggy.
Died in Newburg, Ore., May 14, Dr. D.W. LYLE, a former resident.
The Scott WHITNEY farm was damaged by a severe storm.
Four students graduated May 19th from the Tecumseh High School; Darc AUMAN, Ella McCROSKY,
    Cora O'Connell and Ernest HAUGHTON

Johnson County Newspaper Abstracts, 1891 continued:

A son was born to Mr. & Mrs. W.W. CAMPBELL east of town.
Married in Todd Creek precinct, June 9th, William SHERMAN and Lillie STANTON both of Johnson Co.
The 13 mo. old child of Mr. & Mrs. Frank ARTIZ accidentally drowned.
   
Meals now 25 cents each at DONALDSON's Dinning Parlor.
Born--a girl to Mr. & Mrs. Ira PHILLIPS, June 26th.
The two year old child of Mr. & Mrs. Isaac PARRISH died.
The home of D.L. MAYER was struck by lighting and damaged severely.
   

July 1891

Mr. & Mrs. Charles Madden have a new boy,, June 25th.
Well diggers have discovered a vein of coal on J.D. RUSSELL's place
Mr. & Mrs. C.M. CHAMBERLAIN have a new son.
Miss Cicely IRWIN purchased the millinery store of Mrs. M.A. HILL.
   
Plans have been completed by W.L. DUNLAY for a new bank in Cook.
Mr. & Mrs. L.J. ALLEN of Crab Orchard have a new son.
Died--June 21st, C.W. COMBS, age 82 at the residence of his son,
   
Long Branch--Mr. & Mrs. BIRKENBINE have a son.
Born--a dau. to Mr. & Mrs. S.S. STEWART, also a dau. to Mr. & Mrs. Frank VANCE, and a dau. 
to Mr. & Mrs. VANBOSSEN so reports Dr. CHUBBUCK.
   
Sterling has hired Prof. S.P. ARNOT as principal.
Miss Dora REYNOLDS married Charles THOM of Nemaha City.
PAINE and Sons sold out their livery to John BEATTY.
Willard OSGOOD received a facial poison from weeds.
   
Mr. & Mrs. Walter BATTREALL lost their eight mo. old baby.
Mrs. Susan SWARD died at home aged 74.
Walter  BATTREALL sold his property south of the Universalish Church to John ALBERNETHY.
   
Born--July 28th a dau. to Mr. & Mrs. James M. MAYER, also a dau. to Mr. & Mrs. G.E. BRADLEY.
Elmer E. YOUNG and Mollie CASFORD were married in Elk Creek.

August 1891

The seven mo. old dau. of Mr. & Mrs. S.F. HOLMES of Elk Creek died.
Henry JAMES reported his horses stolen.          
G.S. PHILLIPS of Lincoln prect. was injured.
   
Mr. & Mrs. Herbert HEILIG have a new dau. Sunday and Mr. & Mrs. John KELLEY have a new dau.
A.B. COOPER has purchased the pump and windmill business of Cy EGGE.
Will MYERS has accepted a position with PEARSAL and PEARSAL.
   
Mr. & Mrs. Geo. SANDUSKY are the parents of a girl born August 14th.
Jonathan LINFORD died near Smartville aged 55.
Gargonias DOLAN is building a barn and J.M. KALLER is hauling sand at Long Branch.
R.A. STEWART formerly of Tecumseh has moved to Lincoln.
   
A former resident, Henry GOODMAN, opened a clothing store in Nebr. City.
Mrs. Patrick McGINNIS died at the home of her brother Peter FARRIR aged 70.
   
Born to Mr. & Mrs. Emil PFEIFER, August 22, a boy.
D.C. CONKLIN lost his home to fire. 
Mr. & Mrs. George MENKEN mourn the death of their child.

October 1981 (sic)

Born--a dau. to Mr. & Mrs. W.E. STEELE, Sept. 30th.
Wm. LECK sold his farm near Vesta to Hon. Wash. ROBB.
Born--a son to Mr. & Mrs. G.D. BENNETTARE.
T.J. PAYNE sold his farm to Peter NEUMAN of Watson, Mo.
   
Married--Lewis RAY to Sarah POUNDS, Oct 5th, at the M.E. Church.
Rev. Jos. RUSSELL sold his home to W.L. HEILMAN.       
Born--a son to Mr. & Mrs. W.A. IRVIN, Oct 16th
Married--Oct 13th, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Lizzie C. BOGARDUS to William H. STRONG of Tecumseh.
   
Born--a girl to Mr. & Mrs. John LYELL of Lincoln precinct, Oct. 15th.
Born--a son to Mr. & Mrs. W.C. BUERSTETTA.	
Born--a son, Oct. 13th, to Mr. & Mrs. D.R. BUSH.
   
Married--Joseph A. CLARK and Jessie M. LONG of Vesta
Married Oct. 15th--John ESHENBURG and Mattie CANON at the Bapt. parsonage.
Married Oct. 13th--A.O. ROYCE to Flora LEGG.   
         
Julia BIRD died here Oct 8th.
Lost Branch--Died Oct. 24th, Edith, dau. of Mr. & Mrs. John FISHER, age two years.
   
Married--at the M.E. parsonage in Tecumseh, Oct. 28th, by Rev. J.F. KEMPER, Alvin F. BOOTH and
     Miss Nattie M. ROBINSON of Vesta.
   
Died--the infant child of Mr. & Mrs. John GLENN.
Mr. & Mrs. E.L. WILSON were having 25th wedding anniv.
