WHITFIELD, in Helena precinct, two sisters, Maude and Tressa WHITFIELD, married two brothers, Edward and Emil SABIN on January 3, 1904 George W. SPARLING, 81, died Sat. evening Fred BRINKMAN purchased Parker BELL farm, 3 miles southwest of town. Michael SHAUGHNESSY, 63, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1904 The infant child of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas ROBERTS of Lincoln precinct died Wednesday January 11, 1919 Wilbur SHERMAN, son of Mr. & Mrs. W.M. SHERMAN, was in Brest, France, Dec. 13 with the navy. John A. RULLA, 82, citizen of Sterling, killed by freight train Wed. afternoon. Edmund ULRICH left for his new home in Fowler, Idaho. Joseph, aged 3, and Marie, aged 5, children of Mr. & Mrs. Pierre MURPHY. Joseph was accidentally shot. Along with Dr. ZIEGLER from Vesta they went to hospital in Lincoln, where the child later died. Judge James LIVINGSTON. January 12, 1929 Walter HARTLEY of Tecumseh and Miss Rose HAGELBACH of Graf were married in Hiawatha, Kansas Oct. 1. They returned to their respective homes and kept it a secret. James C. McCOY, 64, died at home at Lewiston Wed. January 9. Frank WROBLISKA died at home northest (sic) of Sterling, Monday, January 7. Andrew Jackson BROWN, 81, died at his home in Vesta Tuesday, January 8. Fred HEMMINGHAUS, 75, farmer, died at his daughter's home, Mrs. William WEBER, near Cook Thursday morning. Crab Orchard--born to Mr. & Mrs. G. BOUERS, Tuesday, a boy; to Mr. & Mrs. Bert SHEW, Monday, a girl; to Mr. & Mrs. Otto BARGMAN, Tuesday a boy. 5 January 1889 Little Bessie, dau. of Mr. & Mrs. M.H. CHRISTY of Sterling died on the 27th, aged 9 yrs 11 months and 13 days. Mrs. A.J. WRIGHT Mrs. Charles McGUIRE died Saturday December 29. Wm. SNYDER and son Crab Orchard Frank McMULLEN purchased land in Gage County from R.G. WORK Frank SCOTT 2 January 1904 Thos. Mrs. Elizabeth HENRY, 68, wife of Judge D.P. HENRY, died December 31. Mr. W.C. BAIRD married Miss Vinnie GUS. Dr. C.W. GRAFF sold his interest in Crystal Pure Ice. Co. to his partner Al RUSSELL. Daniel Boone COLHAPP, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 2. Roy SMITH sold his interest in Smith Drug Co. to his partner Jack M. NACHTIGALL. A son born to Mr. & Mrs. David DURST of Elk Creek, Thurs. Mr. & Mrs. James BROTT adopted baby son of Charles ROBINSON. Mrs. Lydia HEIST of Wymore, grandmother of ROBINSON children took one of the girls to Beatrice and one to Wymore where homes were found for them. W.T. WAIDLEY sold his interest in Elk Creek to Edwin J. BEETHE. Emil H. BEETHE and bro. Edwin, named new firm BEETH Brothers. William E. PUTMAN married Miss Marianne Shirley THOMPSON of Upton, Wyo., Sunday. Stephen A. MANLEY, 75 of Johnson Co. since 1873, died at home in Spring Creek prec. Thurs. Jan 3. Mr. & Mrs. Henry C. HASENYAGER celebrated golden wedding Christmas Day. James T. JONES, 76, farmer, died Monday, Dec. 31. Mrs. Eleanor HEILIG, 78, Johnson Co., died Thurs. Dec. 27.

RIGGLES, J. & IRWIN, Isaac, both natives of Indiana settled three miles south-west of Tecumseh in the spring of 1856. The original log cabin was removed in 1875 by HOWARTH, James. other families to follow were: MAULDING, PRICE, CORSON, WALKER, LOOMIS, LAWRENCE, STRONG, W.H., STRONG, N. B., SHARRETT, BAKER, SWALLOW, HOLBROOK, GDSHEN, DARBY, LITTLE, DRAKE, BENTZ and COCHRAN. PRICE, James, son of PRICE, Ansford was the first child born in the county. Johnson County was organized in 1855 named after Gen. R.M. JOHNSON. First County Officers: WALKER, W.P. MUCHMORE, J.D. SHARRETT, J.D., commissioners. BISHOP, J. Probate Judge GOSHEN, C.A.
