William Liermann, an aged resident at Amelia, Holt County, died suddenly at his home last Saturday from the effects of an injury of long standing. Deceased was a well to do land owner and boarding housekeeper in the little village and widely known in the locality in which he lived. More concerning his death and funeral services will be published later.

The body of William Liermann, a former resident and settler of Cuming County, was brought to West Point from Amelia, Holt County, on Wednesday, his death having occurred in the farm home near that place, very suddenly from heart failure. Mr Liermann was for many years prominent in the affairs of Cuming County being connected with a number of the most prominent families here. he was a native of Germany and was in this 70th year., He is survived by wife, three brothers: in this county, his good mother and six children.
Interment was made from German Lutheran Church at Rock Creek.

Robert Mueller, a Gerrman, who for about 30 years had lived on a farm near O'Neill, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a .38 calibre revolver last week. He was seated in a rocking chair in his home when he committed the rash act, and the revolver was found lying on the floor beside him, with one chamber empty. He was a bachelor about 60 years of age, lived alone, and his death was discovered by Mrs Hillard, a neighbor. The coroner, sheriff, undertaker from O'Neill went to the place and found the facts as above stated. Mr Mueller leaves about 15 thousand dollars worth of property, which will go to relatives in Germany. The body was buried at O'Neill.

Amanda Ogle died Monday the 18th, at the home of her son, Wilbur at Tenino, Wash. Deceased was formerly a resident of Atkinson and the remains were shipped from Tenino, Wednesday, for interment at this place.

Amanda Starr Ogle was born William County, Ohio on Feb 22,1845. She was married to Elisha M Ogle Oct 1,1867, to which union was born a son and daughter. Both husband and daughter had preceded her in death. Mrs Ogle died at the home of her son, in Skoomchuck, near Titino, Wash on Monday, Jan 18,19156. She leaves to mourn her departure one son, Wilbur, three sisters, three brothers, and four grandchildren.
Mr Ogle arrived with the body of his mother on Saturday evening. The burial at Woodlawn Cemetery took place on Sunday morning with a brief service at the grave conducted by Rev Lloyd Cunningham of Presbyterian Church, of which church Mrs Ogle had been a member.

John A Olson born in Edd, Sweden, Feb 18,1872. Died at his home in Atkinson Dec 22,1914. The deceased emigrated to this country with his parents at the age of 13 years and settled at Hampton, Iowa, where he grew to manhood.
In 1899 he moved to Atkinson where he resided eight years. He was married to Matilda Ziska in Atkinson, Feb 11,1907 at St Joseph Catholic Church. To this union 4 children: were born, Clarence 7, Clara 5, Basil Carl 3, Irene 2, who with their mother survive to mourn their great loss.
Other surviving relatives are his mother Mrs A T Olson and two sisters Mrs Nels Anderson of Atkinson and Mrs F M Kline of Hampton, Iowa.
Following their marriage they moved to Coulter, Iowa where they made their home on a farm until last Sept when they moved again to Atkinson.
Funeral services were held at St Joseph Catholic Church in this city Dec 24, Rev Father Loecker conducted the Requiem mass and interment was made in Catholic Cemetery.
Deceased was ailing for almost a year previous to his death, but continued about his usual work uncomplaining, though suffering more or less with his ailment which in the end was to take him away following a confining illness of twelve days.
Through his suffering he was patient to a degree becoming the fortitude of a Christian man and one who had been faithful to his family and friends. His passing away leaves a sorrowing family and a large circle of acquaintances who knew and appreciated his many good qualities as a neighbor and friend. The Graphic united in expression of condolence for this bereaved family.

Jan 10,1924 The Frontier
James Pace, son of Sherwood and Elizabeth Pace, was born in Mayetta, Georgia, June 10,1844, the youngest of ten children. At the age of 14 he was conscripted into the Rebel Army, for 3 years was Master Drill Sergeant, and then after serving 1 and 1/2 years on the battlefields being wounded at the Battle of El Caney (which bullets he carried in the right knee to the day of his death) he ran way and took 18 other young men about his own age and joined the Union Army at Fayettsville, Arkansas, March 1,1863, and was mustered into service ten days from the time he was enlisted to the day of service, as Sergeant of Co E, 1st Arkansas Reg Infantry, and was mustered out at Little Rock, Ark, June 10,1865. After the close of the war he with two other comrades made a trip through the Black Hills with ox teams, freighting on the Old Santa Fe Trail, returning to the State about 1868 he moved to Fairfax, MO, where he made his home.
On Feb 22,1889 he was united in marriage to Amanda Hammers at Rockport, MO, to this union 3 children: were born, Lulu M, George H and Ruth. Ruth died in infancy. He united with the Bethany Baptist Church at Fairfax, MO, in the fall of 1910 and was a consistent worshipper of that Faith to the day of his death.
He died at the home of his daughter Mrs John L Quig, O'Neill, Nebr, Jan 2, 1924, age 79 years, 6 months and 22 days, leaving to mourn his widow, one daughter and one son and two grandchildren. Daddy Pace as he was known to all those who met him, was a typical southerner, the latch string was always on the outside of the door, and all were welcome to enter. Once in the house one must "bide a bit" and "have a sip and a bit to eat". Although born in the south and a Georgian, all the time Daddy Pace never took a drink of any kind of liquor, a total abstainer at all times.

Carrie Smith Powell, wife of W C Powell, died Nov 9,1910 at her home in Medford, Oregon, age 29 years.
She was born in Sterling, Nebr, and had made that her home until about three years ago when she moved with her family to Holt County, taking charge of the Green Valley post Office until last March, then moving to Oregon.
When Mrs Powell was 12 years old she united with Christian Church and at the age of 18 was married to W C Powell.
She leaves a husband and seven children, also a mother and three brothers: to mourn her sad loss.

George W Raymer was born in Rock Grove, Stephenson Co, Ill, March 12,1864. In the fall of 1872 he moved with his parents to Seward County, Nebr, thence later to Atkinson, where he has since resided.
On Jan 15,1891 he was united in marriage to Mary E Brox, and to this union were born three children, one of which died in infancy.
On Jan 9,1907 he was united in marriage to Gertie B Werner.
After an illness of many months, during which he bore patiently his suffering, death came on the evening of June 23,1914.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his dear wife, two sons, step mother, four brothers, one sister.

Mrs Runnels came to Stuart about 15 years ago, during which time she has resided in Dustin and Stuart vicinities. Early in life she confessed Christ as her Savior and her home life was a testimony of His guidance. In 1918 her home was broken by the death of her husband. In 1924 she moved to Litchfield, where she resided until her death on Dec 5,1923. During her residence there her friends were numbered by those who knew her. She was a faithful member of the Methodist Church. She leaves her family, Arthur, Gladys, Ormand, Hilah; Ina Bernadene having preceded her in 1915. It might be added that to her children: she was the best of mothers; to her friends she was always true.
Her remains, accompanied by her children, arrived in Stuart Friday night, and were taken to the home of Mr and Mrs F F Wefso. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church Sunday and interment was made in Stuart Cemetery. A large number of friends and former neighbors were present.
I'd like to be the sort of friend that you have been to me.
I'd like to be the help that you've been always glad to be.
I'd like to mean as much to you each minute of the day as you have meant dear friend of mine, to me along the way.
