News Tid-Bit: Front Page News: "All systems are "go" for Cornhusker blast" said Lincoln Journal Star on Saturday, February 20, 1982. L. Kent Wolgamott, a staff writer, explained that the scheduled demolition was set for Sunday, February 21, 1982 about 8:30 to 9 a.m., which was on schedule from the Monday's article. The historic hotel was 10-story building that was built about 1927. This explosion was broadcast live by the local television stations.
