"On November 4, 1912, articles of incorporation were filed for the Grand Island Horse and Mule Co. by John Torpey, Wm. S. Fletcher, and Arthur H. Langman, with a capital stock of $25,000. Their first sale was a hummer and from then on they went right ahead. This company is still operating at the market, with A. H. Langman as president, A. C. Scott as vice-president, and John Torpey as secretarytreasurer."
