Andrew E. Edstrom

Andrew S. EDSTROM, formerly of Flatbush, died last Saturday at Grand Island, Nebraska, where he was an Inspector of horses for the United States Government. He was born in Buffalo fifty years ago. He was a member of Kings County Lodge No. 511, F. and A.M., and Mizpah Lodge, I.O.O.F. He is survived by his widow, Mary; his mother, Martha M. of Toledo, O.; four brothers, Thomas of Pittsburg; William, of Toledo, and Warren and James of Buffalo, and one sister, Mrs. Annie PHILLIPS, of Toledo. Funeral services were held on Tuesday evening at the LEFFERTS Place Chapel with interment yesterday at Evergreen Cemetery.

John H. Evers

JOHN H. EVERS, OF ST. LIBORY, DIES

John H. EVERS, retired farmer and a native son of the community, died early today at the family residence in St. Libory. He had been in failing health since the first of the year. A son of Conrad and Elizabeth EVERS, he was born June 28, 1880, at St. Libory, where he grew to manhood and, May 24, 1904, married Frances BOEHLE. Surviving are his wife, five sons, Ignatius at St. Paul, Minn, Alfred at Sioux City, Ia., and Leo, Louis and Hubert at home; a daughter, Mrs. Norman MILDENSTEIN, Grand Island; five brothers, Conrad at Cheyenne, Wyo., Anton in Oregon ad Henry, Theodore and Alphonse at St. Libory, and three sisters, Mrs. Joseph TURK, Mrs. Benjamin BOEHLE and Mrs. Lawrence TRENTMAN, all of St. Libory. A son and three brothers preceded him in death. Funeral arrangements await word from members of the family at more distant points. The body is at the Sowl & Grosshans mortuary.

Charles Edholm

CHARLES EDHOLM TAKEN BY DEATH

Charles EDHOLM, 75, retired employe of the Union Pacific, died yesterday afternoon at a local hospital. He had been ill six months. Born at Boden Norabottens Lan, Sweden, June 11, 1864, Mr. EDHOLM came to the United States sin teh early spring of 1896. He entered the service of the Union Pacific at Creston, Wyo., shortly after his arrival and later was transferred to the maintenance department at Grand Island. He was retired from the service in 1934. Mr. EDHOLM never married, his only survivors being a nephew, E. P. BERGQUIST, Sacramento, Cal., and three nieces, Mrs. Theresa WOOD and Mrs. Irene GAYRE, also residing at Sacramento, and Mrs. Elina BOWMAN at Gothenburg. Two brother and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral arrangements have been withheld pending the arrival of relatives from California.

Frieda M. Eggers

Frieda M. Eggers, 83 of 604 N. Eddy, Grand Island died Tuesday, September 3 (1985). A family prayer service was held at 10:15 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The funeral began at 10:30. the Revs. Elrol Reimnitz and Albert Kotz officiated. Burial was in Berwick Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church or to Berwick Cemetery Association. Mrs. Eggers was born June 29, 1902, on a farm southeast of Cairo, the daughter of Henry and Emma Schultz Kroeger. she received her education at Distict 42 school and grew up in the Cairo-Grand Island area. She married Arthur Eggers on August 28, 1918, at Kearney. They farmed southeast of Cairo. In 1943 they moved to Grand Island. Mr Eggers died in 1961. She had cared for the elderly in her home after her husband's death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include four sisters, all of rural Wood River and of Grand Island; and other relatives. She was predceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Christopher Eckhart

Christopher "Chuck" Eckhart, 18, of 1597 S. Sylvan died of cancer on Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Leo's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jack Rademacher officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family's choice. Mr. Eckhart was born April 6, 1979, to Richard and Dana (Mehring) Eckhart. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1997. He entered the U.S. Marines in May 1997, and graduated from basic training on Aug. 15, 1997. He was a Private First Class at the time of his death. Mr. Eckhart was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church. Survivors include his mother and step-father, James White; his sister, Holly Mason of Rapid City, S.D.; a brother, Troy Eckhart of Central City; a step-brother, Bryan White; two step-sisters, Kim Royle and Kristina White; and his grandparents, Marty and Fran Levinson of Grand Island. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Eckhart, and his great-grandparents, John and Caecilia Foreman.
