ETTING CANDY CO. -- Thei councern conducted a very successful candy factory and wholesale candy and fruit business for a number of years. ... about 1908 [or later] LEE ETTING ... became secretary; in 1914 LEE ETTING was president and secretary; ... This factory ran until 1918 when it closed for a time ..."

"In 1884 a contract was signed with C. D. Irvine for quarters for the library, and that gentleman acted as librarian for a time. For seven years Mrs. Mary Irvine held this position, and upon her resignation Miss Edith Irvine temporarily held the post until Miss Clara M. Body took her place. She served in this capacity for about four years, and when she resigned to go to England Miss Jessie Wiseman took up the work in her absence. In 1905 Miss Mary H. Ames was called from Lincoln and took charge of the work, and in 1909 was succeeded by Miss Frances Cunningham. The latter served until 1911, when the present efficient librarian, Miss Daisy Houch, was elected. For a time her first assistant was MISS ALMA ETTING, with Mrs. J. A. Costello as second assistant. In recent years Mrs. Costello has been first assistant as well as acting as secretary of the board. The officers of the board are: Mrs. A. O. Abbott, president; Judge Bayard H. Paine, vice president; Dr. George Sutherland, president emeritus of Grand Island College; Mrs. E. E. Farnsworth, wife of Dr. E. E. Farnsworth; and Harry Patterson."
