ADDITIONAL NOTES:

George LEGGOTT is the only one of Edward and Ann (PLATT) LEGGOTT's six children (Alice, George, James, Harriett, Caroline, Anna E.) to come to Nebraska. Only two of George's siblings were married: Harriett LEGGOTT to George Maudson BROCK and James LEGGOTT to Rachel PURCELL. Most of their offspring also remained in the Iroquois Co., IL, area -- except for James and Rachel's youngest son, James Thomas LEGGOTT. In 1935, James Thomas, his wife Susan ELBERT and their nine children moved to a farm northwest of Elwood.

George LEGGOTT's half first cousin, William MOODY, also resided in the Gosper, Frontier, Furnas County area. William was the son of George MOODY & Hannah BROCK and paternal grandson of George MOODY, Sr., & Mary Ann NAYLOR. George LEGGOTT's paternal grandparents were Mary Ann NAYLOR & her second husband, Glew LEGGOTT. In addition, William MOODY's sister, Mary MOODY, was married to George LEGGOTT's brother-in-law, Thomas Gage CARTER.

Three of John and Emma (FIFORD) CARTER's five children moved from Iroquois Co., IL, to Nebraska: Mary Elizabeth, Thomas Gage and William Edward CARTER. Their sister, Ellen CARTER, m. Reynolds JOHNSON, res. Kansas; and their youngest brother, Charles CARTER, d. 1865-1881, died in Illinois.
