THE INCORPORATION OF SOUTH OMAHA 1886


The Second Petition 16 October 1886

Two petitions for the Incorporation of South Omaha were presented to the Douglas County Commissioners. The first petition was followed by several remonstrances, one claiming that a large number of the signers were non-residents. Following are the signers for the second petition that did not have the claim of non-residents:

The (Douglas County) board met this day, pursuant to adjournment; present, F. W. Corliss, Geo. E. Timme and R. O'Keefe. This day came up the incorporation of South Omaha, and the following was offered and adopted:       "Resolved, that the Village of South Omaha be, and is hereby declared incorporated, as petitioned for..."
