CORNWELL posted by Taylor Thayles Cornwell on Sunday, August 1, 2004

Looking for information on my Grt-Grandfather, Carl Thayles Cornwell, b 11 Sep 1876. A son (my grandfather) Leo Denny Cornwell, b 1905, used to go back to Lexington, Dawson County, Nebraska to visit family there. At some point, the family moved to Sapulpa, Creek County, Oklahoma, where Carl T. Cornwell died in Aug 1968. He married Ella (date, place and maiden name unknown). The name Thayles has been used in 4 generations so perhaps it may have originally been a surname in our family tree?? My grandfather, Leo D. Cornwell died in 1999 in Norman, Oklahoma.

MCWHA, RALSTON posted by Sandy Carter-Duff on Tuesday, August 3, 2004

John RALSTON of Dawson Co. died 30 May 1899 according to the Gothenburg cemetery inventory where he is buried. His sister, Isabelle RALSTON MCWHA (1826-1905)was married to Dupree MCWHA (1818-1899). They never left Northern Ireland but their daughter, Lizzie MCWHA MCMEEKIN (1857-1941)settled in Polk Co., NE and raised a family of 12 with husband James. Lizzie's brother Robert A. MCWHA (1861-1937) also died and is buried in Gothenburg Cemetery. Am in touch with MCWHA's in New Zealand of this line.

BEYET, BEYETT, BLOCK, BRAY posted by Cheryl Burtch on Wednesday, August 4, 2004

I have two things to inquire about.
There is a misspelling of My Great Grandfathers last name on the Dawson county marriage list. It shows him as Isadore Beyet. The correct Spelling is Isadore BEYETT.
I would also like to know how to get copies of the pages of the Dawson County marriages shown under this web page:
DAWSON COUNTY MARRIAGE INDEX - MALE
1873 - 1937     Vol # Page #
Beyet, Isadore /Bray, Emma 1 396
Beyett, Joseph L./ Block, Mabel L. 8 15
Mable and Joseph are my grand parents. Isadore and Emma are Joseph's parents.
Thank you for your response. Cheryl

BINGELL, BINGLE, CHALBERG, MENSSEN posted by Joe Marti on Sunday, August 8, 2004

Salutations,
BINGELL, Dawson County, 19th cent. I'm researching the Bingell family history in Nebraska, particularly in Lexington (I think). I am primarily interested in discovering identity of Civil War soldier (Union Army). I am unsure of surname but strongly suspect Bingell or possibly Bingle. Bingells emigrated from Germany in mid-19th century and settled in Lexington, Kearny, and later Ogallala. Thank you very much for any information you could provide.
