We believe that our Grandfather; Herbert Ashley Overton was a founding father of Overton NE after many years of working the railroads during the turn of the 19th century. Any help with information about him will help us to tell his story to his many decendents.Thank you VERY MUCH.

My husband was born in Lexington, NE, in 1943. His mother worked in some industry (I think defense oriented) and his father was in the service and stationed in the area.
Can someone tell me what military installation was located there?
Thanks, Martha.

Is this the place to ask about people who used to live in Dawson county one would like to find?
My dad, John Bean, and Ralph Longbottom were partners in a Pharmacy in Overton about 1938. I would like to find Jimmy Longbottom, Ralph and Arla's son. The Pharmacy's name was: Longbottom and Bean. That got a lot of laughs they told me.

Looking for any information about John Campbell, Sarah A. Campbell, Albert E. Campbell and Clara Campbell Bean. They were living in Plum Creek (Lexington), Dawson Co., NE on the 1885 census. Albert died in 1901 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery and Clara and her husband Levi Bean are buried in Grace Cemetery. Clara died in 1933. I can find no record for John, Albert's and Clara's father, or Sarah Johnson Campbell, John's second wife. Sarah and John were living in Centerville, Lancaster Co., NE on the 1880 census. John was to have died, in NE, in 1888, but I do not know where. Thank you for your help, Dean Johnson.

Searching for classmate, Wanda Clevenger, who graduated from Farnam High School, Dawson county, Farnam, Nebraska in the class of 1951. She is the daughter of Luther Clevenger (abt. 1902, MO) and Ethel D. Clevenger (abt. 1903, OK). Brothers are Dallas Jr. (abt. 1925, MO), Edwin Lloyd (abt. 1928, SD), Dennis Leon (abt. 1929, SD), Forest Curtis (abt. 1930, SD). This information is from the 1930 Federal Census in SD, Hand, Carlton, District 6. Wanda had at least four younger sisters, Donna, Barbara, Ethel, and Patty during the 1951-52 school year attending Farnam Public Schools. Would be interested to make contact with someone who knows of this family. Possible that Luther might be the son of James Clevenger and Margaret Lavada Fritz Clevenger. A "Luther A. Clevenger" was born to the couple 13 Jul 1901, at Sparta, Christian, Missouri and died 1 Nov 1963 according to the IGI at 'familysearch.org'.
