In the Grace (Grace Methodist Episcopal) cemetery index, in the Winters plot, there is a mistake. Rachel Jane Winters is not a Winters. She is Rachel Jane (Simmons) McGrath, first wife of John McGrath who is buried beside her. Linden Shroy was the brother of Vaunie Shroy, and they were the children of Rebecca Patterson (my grandfather John Robert Patterson and my grandmother Nellie Belle (Cunningham) Patterson's) daughter. I do not know the name of Mr. Shroy, but there were only a few Shroys in Dawson County at that time. I suspect that maybe that Mr. Shroy and "Becky" Patterson could not afford a plot at the time Linden died (I don't know how old he was, but he was very young), and the Winters probably offered their plot for burial, but again, I don't know.
