The following records are from 22 funeral ledgers and various folders that came from the Hobson Funeral Home in Weeping Water, Nebraska. I made every attempt to transcribe the material as close as possible, but there may be some typos, as most of the entries were handwritten, and at times were a bit hard to read. In browsing these records you may see an occassional entry that doesn't seem to fit the column, but this was rare.
Only the first ledger had the cause of death as an entry. It was very uncommon to find the reason for death in the later ledgers, but I've noted it when it arised.
There were just over 100 file folders included with the ledgers. Nearly all had paperwork that pertained to the entries in the ledgers. I've noted the name that the folder belonged to, as well as what is in the folder.
I want to give a BIG thank you to Susan Hobson Ludwick, who graciously gave me the ledgers so they could be put on the Cass County Rootsweb site. They are now housed at the Nebraska Historical Society in Lincoln.
