M.A. Carmichael's Burials Database:
How to Obtain a Full Citation and
What is Included
An entry in the Burials Database will include information in the following
categories IF the information was available. Please note that this
database is from an inventory of gravestones. Unmarked graves are not
included.
- Cemetery
- Row or Section within the cemetery. This information corresponds
with maps created expressly for use with this database and does not conform
to the rows and sections used by the cemetery caretakers. Maps showing the
database location designations are available through the Cass County
Historical Museum.
- Veteran Status: This may include the war(s) served in, whether
the grave has a government marker or the stone notes service, and the type
of flag holder present at the grave site.
- Participation in the American Legion Auxiliary or Veterans of
Foreign Wars Auxillary
- Full birth and death dates, if found on gravestone.
- Special notes on information found at the grave site. For
example, an inscription that reads, "Son of John and Mary".
The Cass County Historical Society at 646
Main Street, Plattsmouth, NE 68048 can provide full citations. The requested
donation is $5 per surname. Please send your request the Cass County
Historical Society.
The Historical Society also has maps showing the rows and/or sections
within each cemetery.
