Parents: C.A. Leslie and Bessie A. (Johnson) Johnson
Received her primary education from District 45 rural school in Phelps County; then graduated from Holdrege High School in 1950
Married: May 22, 1955, to John Henry “Jack” Guthrie at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege; celebrated 64 years of marriage in 2019
After marriage, lived in Odessa, focused her efforts on caring for the children and the family home; in 1971, began a longtime career for the United States Postal Service as postmaster in Odessa, retiring in 1999; moved to Kearney in November 2013
Activities: faithful member of the Riverdale Christian Church and the Ragan United Methodist Church; enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidery, puzzles, gardening and Husker sports; especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many hours spent around the kitchen table playing cards with family and friends; will be remembered for her generous heart, her sense of humor and her love for Jesus
Was preceded in death by her sister, Zola Dahlgren Farrell Maul; two brothers, Laverne Johnson and his wife, Pauline, and Quinten Johnson and his wife, Marilyn; six sisters-in-law, Alberta Covey and husband Albert, Garnett Covey and husband Donald, Alpha Fries and husband Wayne, Myrna Guthrie, Thelma Soderberg and husband Vern, and Geraldine “Gerry” Richards and her husbands, Millard Covey and Leland Richards; and seven brothers-in-law, Dewitt Schroeder, LaVerne Guthrie and wife, Barbara, Omer Guthrie and wife Wanda, Harold Guthrie, Neal Carlson, Clarence “Bud” Rogers and Leroy Maxwell
Survivors include: her husband, Jack Guthrie of Christian Homes in Holdrege; her children, Denise Johnson and her husband, Roger, of Wichita, Kan., Scott Guthrie and his wife, Cindy, of Kearney, Patty Rebman and her husband, Brad, of Republican City, Peggy Rogers and her husband, Dave, of Adams and Nancy Guthrie of Kearney; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister and best friend, Vearl Schroder of Holdrege; three sisters-in-law, Florence Maxwell of Denver, Eleanor Rogers of Holbrook and Linda Guthrie of Hastings; three brothers-in-law, Wayne Guthrie and his wife, Janice, of Alma, Cecil Guthrie and his wife, Donna, of Holdrege and Dale Guthrie and his wife, Lou Ann, of Ragan; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Survivors include: his wife, Wilma; children, Kathy (John) Storms, Karen (Bill) Amstuz, Stephen (Phyllis) Henderson, Susan (Sam) Gullion and Rick (Pam) Henderson; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Millie Garber and Charlotte Curtis, both of Colorado, and Eileen Booth of Nevada

Activities: enjoyed using her musical talents as accompanist of Kearney High School choirs; also played the organ, piano, flute and handbells at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney; was an active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League
Survivors include her parents, the Rev. Robert and Bonita Pierce of Ogallala; two sisters, Michelle Degenhardt of Tomball, Texas, and Kristina Pierce of Missouri City, Texas; and a niece and nephew, Ashlyn and Caleb Degenhardt, both of Tomball
Was preceded in death by her grandparents and her brother-in-law, Ryon Degenhardt

After marriage, lived in the Gibbon/Shelton area; devoted her life to family, church and farming
Activities: enjoyed serving her Lord at Gibbon Baptist Church, through worship, discipline and service; played piano for over 40 years, served on every committee imaginable, and started and finished many different projects that have graced her family, the community and church; loved her children dearly, and enjoyed precious time with each and every one of her grandchildren the last month of her life
Survivors include: her husband, Bradley Widdowson; and children, John and Laurie Widdowson, Eliza and Scott Ferzely, Virgie Widdowson and Abby and Matt Elsbury; grandchildren, Maverick and Maguire Widdowson, Delanie, Caden and Sydney Ferzely, and Lily, Hudson and Beckett Elsbury; sister, Kathy Ganz of Kearney; and many in-laws, cousins and other relatives and friends
