Activities: enjoyed playing the piano, reading, camping, listening to music, traveling, and spending winters in Arizona

Was baptized as a Child of God on April 18, 1943, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Hildreth, confirmed his faith on June 29, 1958; grew up happily on the family farm eight miles south of Wilcox with his sibling; enjoyed time with his Grandpa Harry Blank; attended Wilcox Public School, graduated with the all-boy class of 1962
Worked as a custodian at Kearney State College, retired in 1989 as it was becoming the University of Nebraska at Kearney; sold his home in Kearney and purchased a home in Wilcox not far from his parents
Activities: member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church of Hildreth; liked to help his mother with her gardening and mowing their yards

Became a member of the Kansas City Board of Trade in 1973, spent the next 45 years merchandising grain throughout the United States; also owned and operated B4 Cattle as well as various farming interests
Activities: loved to golf, hunt and fish, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing poker and going on crop tours; especially cherished playing with his grandchildren; member of Kearney First Lutheran Church; lived his life with courage and conviction; his incredible wit and competitive spirit will be missed;. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved, and his kind and gentle heart will be cherished and missed by all who knew him.

When her future husband, a sailor, shipped over from the West Coast to the East Coast, he told her to “pack your bags for Reno.”

After World War II ended and Walter was discharged from the U.S. Navy,moved to the Frank Rohde farm in 1950; after many years on the farm, Adeline retired to Ravenna until her health failed, then moved to Omaha
Activities: member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 5820; was an avid bowler until she was 90 years old, participated in many tournaments and the Nebraska Senior Games

Grew up in Loveland, received her education at Loveland High School and graduated in 1960; attended CSU, aspired to become an artist or therapist
Married: June 18, 1961, to Roger Traphagan in Loveland
After marriage, lived in Colorado, enjoyed camping, traveling and picnicking in the mountains
Moved to Kearney, 1976; was a homemaker; worked as a bookkeeper for Maul’s Auto Body Shop and at Dairy Queen; moved to Hastings in 1990, worked various services jobs, most recently as a home health/hospice aid
Activities: enjoyed spending time with her children and was a Camp Fire Girl leader; had a passion for the arts, including painting and crafts; enjoyed dancing and music of all kinds, especially blue grass and old time rock ’n’ roll; loved animals, especially her cat and dogs; enjoyed learning about the world and cherished memories of traveling; enjoyed making someone smile or just feel a little better; enjoyed sunshine, swimming, listening to music and driving her Mustang convertible with the top down
Survivors include her daughter, Jodi Sowl of Kearney; son, Jeff Traphagan and wife Shamain of Kearney; husband/companion, Roger Traphagan of Kearney; grandchildren Mattie of Omaha and Tanner Traphagan of Kearney; and many nieces, nephews and cousins
Was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jenny Lynn Sowl; and her parents
