Military: U.S. Army, May 1970 - January 1972; was stationed in Japan and maintained high security long-range communications equipment
Married: Dec. 28, 1973 to Ellen Wagers, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelton; they had 11 children together
Worked at Eaton Corp. for 38 years with over 32 years of perfect attendance, retired in fall 2008; worked briefly at Cabela’s, BD and Intermotion; deeply valued and prayed for the people he worked with, and was ready to help anyone, anytime, even after retirement

Opened their arms and their hearts to Dan and Deb and raised them as their very own after a tragic accident took the lives of their parents
Activities: loved to quilt, made many of them, including one for each of her children and grandchildren; every Monday quilted with the ladies at the United Methodist Church; also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially kolaches, cinnamon rolls and potato dumplings; member of St. James Church and St. James Altar Society

Activities: received the Kearney Hub Freedom Award for Religion, 2008; was a dedicated and active member of First United Methodist Church and was a member of the church choir; member of the Sweet Adelines, a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital and a member of the Extension Club for more than 50 years; enjoyed collecting stuffed bears and was affectionately known as “Care Bear” by many friends and family; faith and family continued to be the most important aspects of her life
Survivors: children, Kathy Jensen and husband Terry of North Loup, Diana Clausen of Kearney, Scott Whitney and wife Sharon of Kearney and Pat Whitney and wife Valerie of Fremont; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Peterson of Kearney; sister, Ramona Dobberstein of Kearney; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gale and Ollie Dady of Kearney; and numerous nieces and nephews
Was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harmon; twin infant daughters, Judy and Jacque; two brothers, William and Donald Peterson; and a sister, Rosalie Hollmann
