Activities: had a love for God, prayers and scripture; enjoyed children and keeping in contact with relatives and friends from Ord High School; was an unconditional and supportive friend

Activities: member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Grand Island Saddle Club; enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed having the family together for holidays; enjoyed playing cards, belonged to several card party groups throughout the years; liked to work in her garden and enjoyed her beautiful flowers
Died surrounded by family; had battled dementia for seven years; was able to live in her home throughout her battle because her loving husband cared for her without waiver

After the Korean War, lived back in Nebraska, husband took over running her father’s farm north of Kearney; also lived in Alliance, Harrison, and Morrill, Neb., then to Torrington, Wyo.; supported her husband in his work on the farm and in banking, and was involved in family and church work; moved to Kearney in 2003 to be near her sister, Betty King, and finally to Loveland in 2012, near her sons's family

After military service, moved back to Ravenna, worked for the family hardware store; began working for the U.S. Postal Service in 1958 as a substitute rural mail carrier, delivered mail in Ravenna and was elected postmaster in 1966; was last postmaster to be appointed by President Johnson; retired in 1990
Married: 1980 to Marie Young; retired and moved to Sun City West, Ariz., in 1994 and to Texas in 2004
Activities: lifetime member of the Congregational Church in Ravenna; member of the Ravenna Masonic Lodge and the Tehama Temple Shrine in Hastings for more than 60 years and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and retired postmasters; enjoyed golf and bowling and spending time with his daughter, granddaughter, grandson and great-granddaughter
