Activities: was a member of Huntley Methodist Church, later joined First Christian Church in Alma; served as a director of the Lower Republican Natural Resources District and a director of the Alma Co-op Equity; former member of Harlan Lodge 116, A.F. & A.M. and later Jachin Lodge 146, A.F. & A.M. at Holdrege, was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Tehama Shriners of Hastings, and of the Republican Chapter 304 of the Order of the Eastern Star of Republican City; was an avid golfer; enjoyed visiting with friends, playing cards, square dancing and traveling to their winter home in Mesa, Ariz.
