Married: June 15, 1941, to Maxine Hayman. She died in 1994
Farmed and fed cattle in the Shelton area; retired in 1978 to his wife's parents' farm west of Shelton; learned stained glass techniques, restored the stained glass windows damaged in the 1967 fire at the Methodist Church, also designed and created many new stained glass windows, hangings and lamps; taught others to work with stained glass as well
Activities: longtime member of Shelton United Methodist Church, served in numerous offices and on many committees; founding member in 1968 of Rural Nebraskans for Peace; was a strong advocate for peace, justice and civil rights; 1991, he and his wife received the 3rd District Nebraskans for Peace Peacemaker of the Year award; was honored again with the 2004 Peacemaking Award by Nebraskans for Peace
After wife's death, lived on the Hayman farm; moved to town in 1998; January 2007, moved to The Homestead assisted living in Kearney
