Entered the University of Nebraska, earned an advanced degree of mechanical engineer; member of the honorary engineering fraternities Pi Tau Sigma and Tau Beta Pi, became a Nebraska board certified mechanical engineer and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers; was certified as a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers in 1984, designated as emeritus engineer in Nebraska in 1991; served on the University of Nebraska College of Engineering Advisory Council

Worked as homemaker; also sold Stanley Home Products on the party plan, then sold Avon cosmetics door-to-door and worked at Sears Roebuck and Co. and at Hirschfield Men's Clothing Store
Activities: member of the Eagle's Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge, Royal Neighbors of America and the John Birch Society, was a pink lady at Good Samaritan Hospital and was very active in the Senior Hospitality Center's founding and activities; enjoyed playing cards and dancing
