Fairly new at this, but am looking for information on Samuel Bursell. He was my ggf. Samuel had 8 boys and 5 girls. One of the sons was Lyman. I recently wrote a letter to Lyman Bursell in Oneill, NE an address found online/white pages. It came back but someone at the post office I assume had written on the bottom Spencer,Ne 68777 - however I don't have a street address! It is possible that this Lyman could be the son of Samuel, and brother of my grandmother. He could range in age from mid 70's to high 90's? Then again, may not be the same Lyman at all? Could someone please look in a phone book and email me with a street address. I would be so grateful, then I could find out, or at least find out if this Lyman Bursell is related to me in any way. My email is "clipon@lucasco.net". Thanking someone I hope in advance for your efforts.

Hello, I am looking for any information on my great-grandparents, Peter and Sophia Jurgensen, who came over from Denmark (could have been after the part they were living in became Germany), who lived in Boyd County NE in the 1880-1890's. They had many children-Carl, (my grandfather), Walter, Bertha, Anna,, Lorenz, Marie, Peter, Herman, Dora, and Victor. My grandfather, Carl Jurgensen married Ethel Mildon in Spencer, Boyd Co., NE on June 4, 1914. And Carl and Ethel had a telephone exchange in Lynch which they lost in the Depression. Would really appreciate any information. Thank you.

Can anyone advise me where to order two books on the early history of Boyd County? 1) History of Boyd County Nebraska by Luree (Snider) Barnes and 2) A Continuing History of Naper, NE 1892-1992
James Hotaling ran a stage & mail line from Butte to Stuart in the late 1880 and early 1890s. George Hotaling donated 40 acres of his homestead to make the town of Naper.
James is my grandfather and George is a great uncle. Thank you very much for your assistance. I appreciate it. Frank Hotaling Hotalingfl@aol.com

I would like to learn the exact location if possible of a church known as the JESSER SOD CHURCH in Boyd County. It quite possibly was a Congregational Church and possibly a German speaking congregation. It was organized in June 24, 1899. Rev. Henry Hess was called as minister with a salary of $80 per year. The last service in the sod church was held in 1903 when the parish joined the HOPE GERMAN CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH in Fairfax, SD which was organized in that year. George Jesser purchased the soddie for $35. Any clues would be appreciated.
