Joe Specht at Anoka, Boyd County. There was a Joe Specht that lived his life in Anoka. I am fairly sure there was a Knievel connection. I would have a little information and I think I could put you in contact with someone who would know more.

Mrs. Anna M. WESTERBERG, age 47, of Bristow, m. 1905 in Boyd Co. NE to Klas Johan BRING, 47, of SD. There was a Rev. K. J. Bring, pastor at Rosedale 1899-26 May 1901, who moved to SD by latest 1905 (there is a Klas J Bring, cash purchase, 01 Oct 1902, 95N 66W 9+10 (two 80s). Are they one and the same? Related to a Carl August Bring, a charter member of Bethlehem Luth., Dallas, Gregory Co. SD? Who was the former husband of Mrs. Westerberg - maybe Nels P. ("Pete"?), bur at Trinity Bristow, 1858-1898? Is this Anna the Anna M. W bur at Trinity, Bristow, 1856-1920? Help appreciated, esp. re WESTERBERG, as I'm trying to determine if related. Please see my other Westerberg queries in this forum.

Mrs. Kukal
Mrs. Anna Kukal died Sunday morning at their home in the south part of town after a lingering illness from old age, being 78 years old. Most of her children, who are well scattered over the country were present with her at the last and attended the funeral which was held Monday afternoon from the home and interment made in the Z.C.B.J. cemetery in east Lynch.
Mrs. Kukal was born in Konarovice, Austria (Bohemia) and was married to Frank Kukal shortly before they left that country for America some thirty years ago. They at once located in Nebraska and have made this state their home since. Eleven children were born to them, >seven of whom are living and six were present at the funeral: Charles of Omaha, Nebr., John of Bolivar, Mo., Mrs. Mary Ewing of Niobrara, Nebr., Joe, of Kadoka, S. D., Miss Christina of Minnesota and Frank of Lynch. Another daughter, Mrs. Anna Baily's present address is not known. Mrs. Kukal has lived near and in Lynch for some years and has many friends here among the old settlers. As she seldom left her home and did not make new acquaintences with new people. The family have the sympathy of all in their sorrow. We wish to offer our sincere thanks to the kind freinds and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the recent sickness and death of our beloved wife and mother. Frank Kukal and family.

BULIN, KOLAR posted by Barbara Kolar Bergstrom on Tuesday, June 20, 2000

My grandfather was Joseph Kolar (born 3/10/83 and died 8/01/53) to Karl & Katherina Kolar in Blatna, Bohemia. Joseph had a brother James and sisters Anna Dlouhy (New York) and Mary Jirovec. Joseph came through Ellis Island (I have a copy of his passport) in 1904 on the ship Bremen. After some time spent in New York working as a cobbler, he came to Exeter, NE and worked on a farm owned by John Kusha. His parent's address as noted on the back of a picture: Karl Kolar, Malkov, LynarC(?)4 T.P. Blatna, Bohemia. I don't know what part is street, town, state or providence. I don't know anything about his sisters or their families either. I do know that Joseph married Justina Francis Bulin (born 10/03/01 - died 3/3/96) in June, 1926 in Nebraska. She was born in Gladstone, NE and was about 20 years younger than Grandpa. When I came along they were living on a farm south of Monowi, NE in Boyd County. Any information anybody may have would be greatly appreciated.

GRAY, HOTALING posted by Frank Hotaling on Monday, June 26, 2000

in response to Centennial Book, posted by Dona on Fri, 21 Apr 2000
Dona, I may have written back to you before I do not remember and all my e mail correspondence got lost on one of my goofs. If I did, please ignore this message. The book you mention History of Naper Boyd County NE does it have anything on a James or George Hotaling? Both homesteaded there while the area was still in Holt County the early 1880s. James moved about 1886 to Grand Junction. George either sold or donated part of his land to form the town of Naper. Both are buried in the Butte Cemetery. I am really trying to find information on one of James' wives Cassie Gray, my grandmother. They were married in Grand Junction in January 1889 and she died about 1896 three years after my father was born. Any information at all will be appreciated. Thanks in advance Frank Hotaling
