Stanaland Cemetery

This family burial plot is located north of the Stanley Bridge culvert just off of Fish Creek Grade. It can be reached by traveling west from the Salem, FL Post Office for about 10 miles toward Keaton Beach. Turn left on Stanley Bridge Road for about 2/10 mile and then turn right for about 2/10 mile. Cemetery is located in an oak grove.  [*1]

From Keaton Beach, go northeast on dirt road for 2 3/10 mile. Turn right (east) on dirt road, go 2 2/10 mile, turn right (south) on dirt road and continue 3/10 mile to cemetery which lies fifty feet on the right side of road.  [*2]

William and Mary Stanaland were married Oct 19 1854 in either Terrell or Thomas County, Georgia.

There are several unmarked graves, of which one is supposed to be the grave of Alexander Bass, C.S.A. Also, William and Mary's daughter Wealthy and husband Miles Bass are purported to be buried among the unmarked graves as well.
