More Turnips and "Bigger" Turnips.

Mr. M. L. Adams presented the Herald man with two turnips this week which tipped the scales at 8 3-4 pounds. They grew on land which was cleared some 40 years ago and demonstrates the fact that Taylor county's soil is like good whisky, it improves with age, if properly treated. On the same day Mrs. J. F. King, who lives a few miles south of town, sent us two turnips weighing 9 1-2 pouns and two rutabagas weighting the same. Mr. Adams says he will have to go back and select from some of his largest ones, as those brought us were selected from among some he had gathered for cow feed. - Taylor County Herald.
