Harvey Monroe NORWOOD came to Alton, near Mayo, in Lafayette County around 1910. I have located him and his family in 1920 census (listed as Henry M. NORWOOD). Would like any information on the NORWOODS and the town of Alton. Harvey's wife's name was Cornelia CROUCH. They had 3 sons -- Jessie and Olen born in SC, and Marvin born in Alton. Thanks for the help.

Hello, I have two GGrandmothers, both born in Lafayette Co, both born on the same day, Feb 6, 1870. One was Nancy Cherry Ann HARRELL, and the other was Martha Jane STURGIS. Is there any way I can get information about this county and the resourses available by email?

I live in Spain and will be visiting Florida next summer. I would like to get as far as I can before visiting. What do you think?

Also, Rebecca LANDRUM moved to Lafayette Co area in 1852 or 1853, with her parents, William LANDRUM and Elizabeth NEWSOM from Ga when she was five years old. I have been unable to find any further data from her past. Could someone please help. They only stayed for a short time and it was said that her parents died young. Does anyone have access to any of the early cemeteries?

Thanks,

Charlene Newell

MARY JULIA "MOLLIE" GILL was supposedly from the Suwannee County area; but, why she married in LaFayette County is beyond me--unless she really was from there.

Her father and mother were supposed JACK GILL/GILES and EMILY ROBERTS(ON?)? This is he only line on either side of my famiy that I have not been able to advance in over 20 years.

Any help with this family would be appreciated!
