Directions:  From Highway 90 in Grand Ridge, Florida, travel North on Hwy. 69.  Turn left on C-164 (South).  Travel about .5 miles and turn left on dirt drive.  Drive around edge of fenced field - turn left to continue along fence line.  At end of fence line, turn right - drive down path into woods to cemetery.  This cemetery is difficult to find!  It is unkept, but very interesting.  A large granite stone was erected which reads "Messer Cemetery" on one side and "In Memory of the Known and Unknown Buried Here."  There is a mailbox next to the stone with a notebook containing information on the cemetery, those buried there, and notes from visitors.

When the Messer descendents cleaned up the Messer Family Cemetery and dedicated the cemetery marker in 1994, it was said that there were 60 some graves in this cemetery.  There are several visible gravesites, some with broken and unreadable markers, seen there today.  Please contact sharonk@flgenweb.net if you know of any others buried at Messer.  [NOTE - I do not know if Sharon is still available.  To submit additional information please contact the county coordinator.]
